2️⃣ Put the card reader into operation:
The card reader is cordless. It can be conveniently placed on the coffee table. Connect the charging station to the power supply and switch on the card reader.

All components were developed from the ground up in close collaboration with nursing and occupational therapy experts, ensuring optimal use by our parents.
Not a single button, no menu, no submenu
At family.cards, the entire operating concept is based exclusively on cards.
There are no buttons on either the card reader or the TV box.
There are also no menus or submenus.
It is important to us to give our users the feeling that they can't do anything wrong.
Just place the card and enjoy.
Why does family.cards work on TV?
The television is the center of life for many seniors and a familiar medium.
This allows access to the digital world in a familiar environment with few changes.
Furthermore, it is not necessary to introduce a new technological product such as a tablet into everyday life.
This takes away the shyness and fear of trying something new.
Automatic TV control
Many users find it difficult to manually switch HDMI sources. Therefore, family.cards takes over this task entirely:
- When turned on, the system automatically activates the TV and selects the correct HDMI source.
- After use, it turns the TV off again and resets the TV mode – without any user intervention.
The control commands are sent directly to the TV via the included HDMI cable. If the TV doesn't support HDMI control, an included infrared transmitter ensures that all functions are automatically executed via a remote control emulation.
Ergonomic cards
The cards have a specially designed shape. They are thicker than a regular credit card and have rounded edges. This makes them easier to grip, even for people with mobility impairments such as arthritis or gout.
The cards also have a higher weight, making them suitable for people with tremors.
The cards can be enhanced with accessories such as loops and handles, making them easier to grip or tying them down to prevent them from getting lost.
Ergonomic card reader
The family.cards card reader is completely wireless, allowing you to conveniently operate it from the sofa or bed. With a battery life of up to five days, there's no need to constantly recharge.
The case is made of non-slip material and, thanks to its soft contours, fits perfectly in your hand. The magnetic surface ensures that cards stay securely in place, while the rounded design at the edges provides enough space for easily picking up cards with your fingers.
By placing the reader in the specially shaped charging cradle, it automatically slides into the correct position.
4G modem built in
Not every user has a Wi-Fi or internet connection available.
That's why family.cards always comes with a 4G SIM card slot.
You can use any standard 4G SIM card with data volume to establish internet connectivity.
