"Gernstl on the road" is a charming travel report from BR, in which the filmmaker Franz Xaver Gernstl and his team go on a journey of discovery. Since the 1980s, they have been traveling Germany, Europe and the world in a VW bus, always looking for special people and their extraordinary stories. The show thrives on authentic encounters, spontaneous conversations and the unadulterated view of life away from the big cities. Whether on Lake Chiemsee, in Provence or on the North Sea - Gernstl finds exciting personalities everywhere who have their own view of the world.
